Box Office Showdown: Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ vs. Prabhas’ ‘Salaar’ – Advance Booking & Release Updates

The highly anticipated clash between Shah Rukh Khan’s latest film, “Dunki,” and Prabhas’ dystopian drama, “Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire,” is poised to be an epic showdown. Both movies have strong advance booking statuses, setting the stage for an intense battle at the box office.

Dunki vs Salaar: “Dunki” made an impressive ₹7.36 crore on its opening day, releasing solely in Hindi on December 21. Meanwhile, “Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire” raked in ₹6 crore across all languages, with a multi-lingual release scheduled for December 22.

The advance booking numbers reveal that “Dunki” sold 2,51,146 tickets across 9,658 shows in India, while “Salaar” sold out 2,46,772 tickets through 4,338 shows nationwide. The latter accrued ₹1.11 crore from Hindi screenings and ₹3.5 crore from Telugu shows. Additionally, the advance bookings for Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam languages are gradually gaining momentum.

Prabhas’ “Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire” received a new trailer showcasing the film’s intense world, directed by Prashant Neel. Starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu alongside Prabhas, the movie promises an enthralling cinematic experience. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films, the film’s anticipation continues to soar.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan unveiled the song “Banda” from “Dunki,” sung by Diljit Dosanjh. In a special video titled “Dunki Diaries,” Shah Rukh and Taapsee Pannu delve into the film’s narrative and making, joined by director Rajkumar Hirani. Reflecting on his wish to be ‘In and As’ in a film like Aamir Khan or Sanjay Dutt, Shah Rukh expressed his desire, which led Hirani to dedicate the track “Banda” to him in the movie.

As the release dates draw nearer, the clash between these cinematic giants is generating immense excitement among audiences, setting the stage for a box office showdown of epic proportions.
